Natasha Pillay, Speech-Language Pathologist is part of the rehab team based at the Medicross Highway Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Hospital in Hillcrest. Speech-Language Therapy offers diagnostic assessment and treatment for speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. A holistic team approach is adopted to ensure that patients improve their quality of life and activities of daily living. All therapy offered at subacute care and rehabilitation is intensive to maximize the recovery of the patient.

  • Dietitians for nutritional management
  • Medical management by medical doctors

Speech-Language Therapy is provided for patients admitted at this hospital for the following conditions:

  • Stroke
  • Head injury
  • Neurological diseases e.g. Parkinsons Disease, Dementia
  • Feeding and Swallowing disorders
  • Cancer patients requiring assistance with swallowing and/or communication
  • Voice disorders
  • Aspiration pneumonia resulting in feeding and swallowing disorders
  • Head and neck lesions resulting in speech, language, voice, swallowing and/or cognitive-communication difficulties
